Blurb: When a legend lingers for centuries there’s usually a bit of truth to it. For two hundred years people have whispered about the green fairy that lives in bottles of absinthe. Drink up. If you’re lucky you may see her. If you’re very lucky you may catch her. No one should ever be that lucky. Ask David, Vincent and Richard; three men with a few things in common. They have found inspiration. They have met the Muse. They have taken Dahlia to their hearts and to their beds. It cost them their sanity and their lives. If Stephen isn’t very careful he’s going to be number four.
Welcome to Author Offerings. I am so happy to have you here today and to find out what your author offerings are. What is your latest offering?
Absinthe Eyes and Other Lies was recently released by Noble Romance Publishing.
What is Absinthe Eyes and Other Lies all about?
It’s about the legendary green fairy that lives in bottles of absinthe. I brought her to life. She inspires men to create great works of art. On the down-side; she also drives them to insanity and suicide.
That sounds very, um, disturbing! How did you come up with the idea?
I’ve always been fascinated by the ‘art eats artist’ theme. History is full of great artists who went mad and took their own lives. In the last two centuries, a great many of them were notorious absinthe fiends. I decided to weave the legendary mystique of absinthe and the green fairy into the story. As it turned out, it was a very good fit.
Is this your first author offering, or do you have other books the readers should know about?
It’s my first offering.
What can we expect from you in the future, GR?
I have two short stories that will probably be published in up-coming anthologies by Noble Romance. One is a western called Gunmetal Blue. The other is for a Christmas anthology. The working title is Holly, but that’s not finalized yet.
Thank you for joining me. Is there anything else you'd like the readers to know?
In all fairness, I should mention that I’m every bit as mad as the characters I wrote about it Absinthe Eyes and Other Lies. I find that insanity suits me well; and it’s a very powerful writing tool.
